The Scaff Co. is working hard to become as sustainable as possible, limit our environmental impact, and promote eco-friendly practices. We have examined our business to see how we can improve sustainability. To date, one of our most significant achievements is upcycling the equipment we use so it can be used again after it’s fulfilled its duties with our company. We then sell the upcycled products to our sister company, The Scaff Shop. The reclaimed Scaffold Boards become shelves, furniture and wood cladding. The scaffold poles and fittings are used to make furniture. Their transition was impressive once the team at The Scaff Shop spent hours creating products for them.
We have spent the past few years replacing our fleet of lorries and vans with ULEZ-compliant vehicles, which have been expensive. Where we can, we have adapted vehicles with better mpg using less fuel to reduce our fuel usage. We have also decided on a business to focus on local work to minimise fuel and limit our coverage to England and Wales.
We have teamed up with Ecosia, a search engine that uses its advertising revenue to fund tree-planting projects worldwide. So, every month, we are donating by buying trees to be planted; more information can be found here: https://plant.ecosia.org/.
